"Well-being is a universal foundation for all development and learning, and we can clearly sense when we, ourselves, an employee, a team, or an entire organization is thriving – or experiencing discontent.

Far too many people experience dissatisfaction in workplaces and in life. Decisions are made on an uninformed and uninvolved basis, where individuals find it challenging to understand themselves within that context. Ultimately, it is a senseless tragedy, and anything but humane or economically sustainable.

I have never encountered an individual like Helen who manages to seamlessly integrate scientific theory, psychology, nutrition, mindfulness, and spirituality in such an exemplary manner. I dare to call it a holistic discourse.

Helen shares knowledge as if it were "from an inexhaustible source" – and seems to grow in proportion to it. Absolutely incredible and unique!

Helen's holistic approach and understanding of change management and well-being processes are conveyed in such a lively and inspiring way that I can only recommend this program to everyone.

Thank you for an incredibly inspiring educational journey."“.

"It means a lot for the outcome of an education that you can like the person who is teaching – that you can feel that the instructor truly believes in what is being taught, and their demeanor shows that this matters. I cannot imagine it being done better than Helen Eriksen did in this education. She is the most skilled, delightful, honest, healthy, realistic, non-judgmental person I have ever met. And wow, what life experience.

Helen manages to turn complex theory and research in the field into understandable material – partly by often tying it to a story, often from real life and her own experiences. She knows which tools work in practice and demonstrates how we use them. She shows us that well-being is based on much more than theoretical knowledge and tools. It's about the "whole person" and quality of life all around.

This education is about getting the best out of the many hours we spend at our jobs – it applies to both the professional content and, especially, how to create the best social relationships among colleagues. And it is especially about what you can do yourself – how can you be a good role model?

I wish that Helen would create an advanced course where we can delve into even more exciting, relevant theory, introduce new theories, practice coaching, and most importantly, get motivation and inspiration to continue the good work – we all need that from time to time.".

"I participated in the Well-being Coach training offered by Helen Eriksen in the fall of 2017.

In my daily work, I engage with employees where I am involved in facilitating/motivating learning, well-being, and development for both children and adults. Additionally, I am a trained coach.

I was drawn to the content of Helen Eriksen's well-being coach program as it aligned with my thoughts and desires for additional knowledge about creating well-being and growth – both for myself personally and professionally and for my employees/organization.

The program fully met my expectations. I experienced personal pampering in beautiful surroundings with exquisite organic catering.

Professionally, I have been enriched by Helen, who is a remarkable communicator. She possesses a broad theoretical knowledge ranging from brain research to the significance of diet for well-being and growth. There is noticeable expertise behind Helen's presentations, and they are conveyed in an impressive manner – ready for practical application. Professional inputs are complemented with meditations, yoga, mindful walking, as well as paired coaching exercises – a balance between body and brain input. I gained insights into my current coaching practice that had been previously unconscious to me. Additionally, I acquired knowledge and tools for implementing organizational well-being and growth.

Helen has a very pleasant, empathetic personality, spiced with Jutlandic humor. She embodies integrity and genuine commitment to the idea that we can give while we ourselves grow. Her 'walk the talk' approach clarifies that there is transferable value in the process!

A grateful thanks for being part of the fall 2017 cohort!"

Helle Lerke - Pedagogical leader in Esbjerg Daycare.

"I had the great pleasure of participating in the Well-being Coach training. I was newly elected as the occupational health and safety representative at my workplace, where we faced significant challenges with well-being. One day, while searching the internet for information on well-being, I found Helen.

Based on the information on the website about the training, I felt it was a course I could use, one that also included some unfamiliar elements for me, such as yoga and mindfulness.

So, I went with butterflies in my stomach, hopeful about what new things I would learn and a bit anxious about yoga, mindfulness, and the unknown factors.

I came home with greater insight, especially into myself, and also into how we can bring out the best in each other in the workplace.

As a social and healthcare assistant with a shorter vocational education, I was nervous about how I would feel among people with longer educations and probably experiences with yoga, mindfulness, and so on. From the first day, however, I felt equal to the other participants. Helen has the ability to embrace and see the individual, while quickly creating a safe and warm community.

Taking the well-being coach training with Helen is one of the best decisions I have made, and what I have gained will shape me and my professional life in the future."

"We feasted on meaning from morning to night!

If you, as a coach, just need a proper vitamin boost, want to fill your toolbox, and stay updated on the latest knowledge about what paradigm shifts do to us – then you just have to attend Helen's well-being coach program!

If you've also read Helen's books and simply find that they 'hit the nail on the head,' finding them both easy to read, apply, and entertaining – then you certainly won't be disappointed when participating in this program!

The content of the three intense weekends is fully in line with the content of the books and thus with Helen's entire way of being. She not only believes what she says and writes – she also lives it! In this way, Helen is a very authentic and, above all, ambitious person who doesn't compromise on the quality of content or framework.

Knowing that the coach's most important tool is the coach themselves, you really get your tool well-serviced and examined during this program! Just as naturally as you send your car for service and inspection after a certain number of miles and years, and here check if the engine runs as it should, receives optimal fuel, if the lights in the headlights work and provide correct light/signal, if the brakes work, and if the tires are of such a nature that they can stand firm in all kinds of weather – in general, if the car is safe to transport oneself and others – just as naturally, a coach should attend the well-being coach training. Helen's well-being coach program is to the coach what a service and subsequent inspection is to a car. I certainly felt very well and securely 'driving' after completing the program.

Note: Additionally, it doesn't hurt at all that Helen is a brilliant communicator and a delightful and generous person to be with.

The warmest and best recommendations."

"Dear Helen

I would like to thank you for an amazing education.

In the spring of 2016, I participated in your Well-being Coach training.
I had three fantastic weekends at your amazing course location near Bogense. Over many years as an educational consultant and leader, I have participated in numerous courses. However, I must admit that your course is the best I have ever had the pleasure of attending. I left the course richer than I had ever dreamed.

What made the course so excellent?

- Helen Eriksen is an amazing communicator, an inspiring and delightful person to be with.

- The small, intimate group provides optimal opportunities to absorb knowledge and actively participate in the teaching.

- Helen quickly creates a fantastic atmosphere of camaraderie in the group. This is enjoyed throughout the entire course, enhancing both the academic discussions and knowledge sharing. It made the experience enjoyable.

- The academic level is high but is conveyed in a way that is easy to absorb. The teaching alternates between theory and practice in a very effective manner.

- I have gained excellent tools to work on both my well-being and that of others (employees or colleagues).

- I encountered several entirely new elements for me: Yoga, meditation, mindfulness, vegetarian food. All four subjects were not necessarily in my comfort zone. However, I am so glad to have opened my eyes to these things and actually use them all in my daily life now.

- The physical surroundings at the fantastic course location are "soul-nurturing." The catering was fantastic. And that comes from someone who would have sworn they would never say that about vegetarian food.

I can only warmly recommend this course and can affirm that it is also SUITABLE FOR MEN.

Frank Ilsø Christensen, Business Consultant at Aarhus Kommune."

"In the spring of 2016, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to undergo training as a well-being coach with Helen Eriksen.

I work as an educational consultant at 3F in Holstebro, and I felt the need to 'get some fresh air to the brain.' I had heard Helen speak at several lectures and had also read her books. I've attended countless lectures on well-being, job satisfaction, stress, etc. It has been good, entertaining, and that was it.

With Helen, it was completely different, and what really captivated me and stuck with me was the blend of theory and practice. All statements are actually rooted in research, and this, combined with Helen's many years of experience in the field, resonated with me. The three weekends that the training lasted stand out to me as some of the most rewarding experiences I have been part of. The location, atmosphere, food, and energy are truly fantastic. And then, Helen is a gifted teacher/communicator.

But the very best part, of course, was all the knowledge that I gained. The format of a mix of presentations and practical exercises was excellent. It was also of great value that we were a small group, so there was space and room for everyone. It has truly been something I could use both in my work and personally. The fact that I also got introduced to yoga was an added bonus. Body and soul are connected – that's just how it is."

Anni Svinth, Educational Consultant at 3F Holstebro.

"In June 2016, I completed the Well-being Coach education at The Eriksen Institute – a program that I highly recommend, regardless of how experienced one may feel in the areas and concepts covered. My takeaway was that new thoughts were set in motion, providing a fresh perspective on organizations, people, well-being, and stress – the main ingredients of the program. Most importantly, I took a close look at myself.

The teaching style with Helen at the helm ensured that I never doubted whether I had made the right investment. She is such an inspiring instructor who can fill the room and, at the same time, make room for participants, discussions, thoughts, and contemplation – a rare find.

Personally, it was just the right 'medicine' at the right time for a fairly experienced independent consultant. It gave a good push to my personal work as well as outwardly towards my clients.

If you feel the need for a similar 'medicine,' then this Well-being Coach training is the one to choose – because it's not like all the others."

Modules of the Well-being Coach program:

Paradigm Shift from a Growth Paradigm to a Well-being Paradigm
The Well-being Coach program is structured in modules where we first outline what paradigm shift we are undergoing. We are transitioning from a growth paradigm to a well-being paradigm. We delve into the challenges this shift poses for our society, life and work conditions, for us as individuals and organizations, for our health and quality of life, for our bodies, minds, brains, nervous systems, relationships, work environment, and overall well-being. As the program focuses on what creates well-being and a constructive work environment through theory and practice, this understanding becomes an integral part of the framework.

Change Psychology, Well-being Psychology, Motivational Psychology
To become more aware of what creates well-being and a constructive, energizing work environment instead of just focusing on avoiding sick leave, this module provides insights into what various research disciplines and experiential practices can tell us. We gain inspiration in our leadership from different perspectives in modern research within change psychology, motivational psychology, and well-being psychology.

Relationships, Group Dynamics, and Evolutionary Psychology
What is the psychology and neurology behind our fundamental relational dynamics? How can we, individually and relationally, become better at decoding, understanding, and increasing awareness of the unconscious and controlling dynamics? And how can we use this knowledge and inspiration to proactively create well-being, joy, and a positive work environment?

Stress – Causes, Prevention, and Healing Options
This module delves into the state of stress within the context of a paradigm shift. What is stress really about, and what are sustainable solutions for individuals, organizations, and society? Is it meaningful to continue with the existing solutions as we know them, or is it time to find stress prevention and management solutions within a well-being paradigm? We explore the causes of stress, stress states with their symptomatology, and solutions for both preventing and managing stress and burnout.

Resilience, Robustness, Biochemistry, Nutrition, Lifestyle, Joy
The chain is never stronger than its weakest link. And usually, we are good at helping others and ensuring that our employees and our family are well. Often, we may tend to forget about ourselves. But as the safety instructions say on planes before takeoff: If the cabin pressure drops, it is important that we put the oxygen mask on ourselves first and then help others. Because otherwise, we may not be able to help ourselves or others. The growth paradigm with its economic models of constant growth, profit maximization, higher, faster, and longer goes against both what nature's ecosystems can tell us about creating sustainable development for millennia and against our own biochemical, neurological, physiological structures.
This module tells us in detail and with a twinkle in the eye how we can create more resilience, robustness, increased well-being, and quality of life by combining knowledge of brain functions, psychological dynamics, and the influence of nutrition and exercise.

Change Psychology, Well-being, and Unconscious Assumptions
Our own and relational well-being largely depends on how we perceive things and the ways in which we approach them. Since a significant part of our individual and group dynamics is unconscious and guided by old unconscious assumptions, it is vital for a constructive work environment to become increasingly aware of both our own and the organization's fundamental assumptions.

Change Psychology, Well-being, and Unconscious Assumptions Our own and relational well-being largely depends on how we perceive things and the ways in which we approach them. Since a significant part of our individual and group dynamics is unconscious and guided by old unconscious assumptions, it is vital for a constructive work environment to become increasingly aware of both our own and the organization's fundamental assumptions. These assumptions are often significant stumbling blocks and killers of innovation and well-being. Not because we resist change, but because we are not aware of what we are doing. Our psychological work environment is often characterized by allowing ourselves to be massively controlled by old illusory assumptions that lead us to believe that others might like us less if we express something that the majority won't approve of, that we might be excluded, marginalized, shut out, or lose status in the group. When we become more aware of the context and our own role in it, we can start to be consciously co-creative from a well-being perspective. It is liberating, internally motivating, and energizing, and it creates sustainable well-being. Well-being that can sustain itself because we increasingly become aware of what we are doing. We become internally motivated to be responsible, to take responsibility for ourselves and each other.

The Whole Brain – Multiple Intelligences, Learning, and Well-being
"If you ask a fish to climb a tree, it will forever believe it is hopelessly stupid" (Albert Einstein). If you ask it to swim in some water, it will have the total experience of mastery. It will feel like a fish in water, which is another way of saying that it thrives. How can we, as leaders and employees, use knowledge about multiple intelligences to create a work environment where more people have the experience of mastering more and thus thrive with self-help and internally motivated well-being?

The Fruit Tree Strategy: GIVE while you grow and the leadership paradigm of the future.
In this module, we deal with how we can learn sustainable leadership from the body and nature in theory and practice and, in everyday practice, create well-being and more meaning. In the paradigm shift from a growth paradigm to a well-being paradigm, we can be inspired by how the body and nature have survived and adapted over millennia, in their ways of communicating, collaborating, sharing knowledge, and informing. We gain groundbreaking knowledge about how these two living systems have organized and related so that it can be read in the organization as surplus, widespread trust, well-being-promoting communication and sharing of knowledge, self-responsibility, co-creation, and glimpses in the eyes of leaders and employees.

Mindfulness, Movement/Yoga, Increased Body Awareness
We often have the necessary tools and abilities to create sustainable leadership and well-being right at our fingertips. We just don't always see them because we live in a culture that tends to favor an outward-executing way of creating identity and meaning rather than an inward-reflective, vegetative, meditative practice.

In our culture, it is easier for us to understand that it is about coming first, jumping the highest or longest, and then you have won, rather than turning our gaze inward and overcoming ourselves by meeting and getting to know ourselves and our different sides, observing them, and then accepting them without judgment and assessment.

In the module, we learn how to strengthen our nervous system and resilience by practicing mindfulness and how to integrate simple mindfulness and yoga exercises into a daily workday, thus creating the foundation for a constructive mental work environment and a life with good overall quality.
